An illegal mining farm has been shut down in St. Petersburg

An illegal mining farm located in a hangar on Mitrofanievsky Highway in the industrial zone of the Moskovsky District has been shut down in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Representatives of the energy supply company recorded facts of unaccounted electricity consumption and prepared appropriate technical reports. According to preliminary estimates, the damage from electricity consumption amounted to almost 10 million rubles.

The seized equipment was handed over for storage to a specialized warehouse. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 165 of the Criminal Code (causing property damage by deception or abuse of trust). Law enforcement agencies are searching for those who organized the illegal cryptocurrency mining, stated the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
