BNB Chain has completed the hard fork upgrade named Maxwell, marking a significant advancement in enhancing the performance of this blockchain network. After the upgrade, the block creation time on the BNB Chain has been reduced from 1.5 seconds to 0.75 seconds, significantly improving transaction processing speed and network responsiveness.
Halving the block creation time not only speeds up transaction confirmation to near-instantaneous levels but also makes the network more flexible and efficient, especially in the context of the increasing demand for decentralized applications (dApps) and DeFi transactions on the BNB Chain.
The Maxwell upgrade includes three important upgrade proposals: BEP-524, BEP-563, and BEP-564, focusing on optimizing the performance and scalability of the network.
BEP-524 introduces a block creation mechanism with shorter intervals, enabling near real-time transaction confirmation.
BEP-563 enhances the consensus process of validators by improving the direct messaging system between nodes, thereby minimizing the risk of missed votes and delays in the synchronization process.
BEP-564 adds two new message types, GetBlocksByRangeMsg and RangeBlocksMsg, to accelerate data synchronization speed among validating nodes in the network.
The completion of the Maxwell hard fork marks an important development for the BNB Chain in the roadmap to enhance the performance of the blockchain network, aiming to better serve millions of users and developers worldwide.
