Ethereum Layer 3 War: New Opportunities for Customized Application Chains
As the Ethereum Layer 2 landscape gradually solidifies, Layer 3 solutions are becoming the new focus of competition. The three major frameworks, Arbitrum Orbit, OP Stack, and zkStack, have supported developers in rapidly deploying application-specific chains. The latest cases show that a top GameFi project reduced its transaction costs to $0.001 after adopting the Layer 3 solution, with TPS stabilizing at over 5000. However, technical experts warn that excessive fragmentation may lead to liquidity splintering, and new cross-layer communication protocols will become key infrastructure. It is expected that by 2025, leading DApps will all run on dedicated Layer 3s, fundamentally changing the existing blockchain application architecture.
