Iran and Israel officially ended the 12-day armed conflict following the achievement of a ceasefire agreement. The Iranian government also expressed appreciation to China for the support provided during the tensions.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian officially announced the end of the war with Israel in a speech delivered to the Iranian people. The announcement marks the beginning of a ceasefire that is considered still vulnerable.
Quoting an AFP report on Wednesday (June 25, 2025), Pezeshkian stated that the 12-day war triggered by Israel's actions has now ended, as broadcast by the official news agency IRNA.
"Today, after the heroic struggle of our extraordinary people—whose spirit has created history—we witness the beginning of a ceasefire and the end of the 12-day war triggered by Israel's provocation and aggression," said President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Iran expressed readiness to re-engage in dialogue with the United States following the achievement of a ceasefire in the bloody conflict with Israel that lasted nearly two weeks and involved attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
While signaling openness to the resumption of nuclear negotiations that were previously stalled due to Israel's sudden attacks, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran will continue to uphold its rights to utilize nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
On the other hand, Israel, through an official statement, conveyed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has gathered his cabinet to announce that "Israel has successfully achieved all targets of Operation Rising Lion, even more than planned."
It is important to note that China has firmly condemned the attack carried out by Israel against Iran on June 13, 2025. The attack killed several key Iranian military figures and became the main trigger for the outbreak of armed conflict between the two countries. This tension even involved the United States in a broader escalation.
After 12 days of fighting, a ceasefire has finally been implemented. China not only supports the achievement of this ceasefire but also strongly criticizes the involvement of the United States in the conflict.
