Washington, June 27 (EFE).- The Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index in the U.S., a key data point for the Federal Reserve (Fed) in its decisions regarding interest rates, closed the month of May with a year-on-year increase of 2.3%, a rise of two-tenths compared to 2.1% in April, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) report released this Friday.

The new indicator aligns with analysts' expectations, who estimate that economic indices have just begun to reflect the effects of the tariffs announced by President Donald Trump. In monthly terms, prices grew by just 0.1%.
