Gavin Wood just released version 0.7.0 of the JAM gray paper yesterday and officially opened the Milestone 1 (M1) submission channel — the first step from theory to implementation for JAM has finally arrived!

No longer just a white paper concept, now it’s the real deal. 🧵

1/From now on, the JAM implementation team can submit M1 implementations (in executable form):

✅ Using the official CLI interface

✅ Passed all M1 trace tests

✅ Accepted core team fuzz testing for several weeks

This is JAM's first 'real-world acceptance'.

2/All submissions must strictly adhere to the rules:

All implementations (even small modifications) must be based on the latest version of the gray paper — currently 0.7.0

Old versions are not accepted, no exceptions.

3/⚠️ The key difference is here:

Gavin and the team will not look at your code at first, but will fuzz the executable file you submitted to ensure its behavior is correct.

Only after passing will the codebase, submission history, and coding style be reviewed.

4/Once validated, the team will be invited for a technical interview.

Interviews will be jointly conducted by Gavin (author of the JAM gray paper) and all JAM implementation teams that have passed M1 — because by passing M1, you become a Level 1 Fellowship expert and will also participate in reviewing others.

5/🎓 What will you gain?

✅ Official seat for Polkadot Fellowship

✅ Technical contribution salary

✅ Implementing the future impact of the JAM protocol

This is not just open source, but also a collaborative system building. 🕶️

6/Besides M1, Gavin also confirmed:

🌐 The JAM test network is about to launch

📅 Will continue until the next JAM gray paper release

JAM officially enters the implementation phase.

7/This is an important moment for @Polkadot:

✅ The protocol has been clarified

✅ Implementations are now open

✅ Community submissions are allowed

✅ Only a few weeks left until the test network

Let's build the future of decentralized computing together.
