!Hello, hello everyone! If you're reading this, you're probably, like me, in the exciting (and sometimes stressful) world of cryptocurrencies. I'm Mariangni, and let me tell you something: this is a rollercoaster of emotions.
When I started, I thought trading was just about looking at charts, searching for that magic line that says "buy here, sell there" and that's it. Wrong! I realized that beyond the green and red candles, there's something much more important that I'm learning the hard way: patience.
"FOMO" and "FUD": My first enemies
Have you ever felt that you see a crypto rising rapidly and feel that if you don't buy NOW, you'll miss out on the party? That's the famous FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). And believe me, it's made me buy things at extremely high prices only to watch them drop. What frustration!
And on the other side is FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt). When everything starts to drop, a terrible panic sets in and you want to sell everything to "save" what’s left. And many times, right after selling, the price goes up again! It's like a cruel joke from the crypto universe.
These two are my biggest challenges. It's so easy to get carried away by panic or by the excitement of seeing numbers rise.
My secrets (as a newbie) for being more patient
Now, don't think I'm an expert, not at all! I still make mistakes, but I'm learning some things that have helped me stay calm:
* Having a plan (and sticking to it!): Before buying anything, I now try to be clear about when I'm going to buy and when I'm going to sell (or at least when I'm going to think about selling). If the price drops a lot, I also set a point where I say "that's it", so I don't lose too much. It's difficult, but it helps me not to act on impulse.
* Not being glued to my phone all day: At first, I was obsessed with checking prices every five minutes. A mistake! That just increases stress and leads me to make foolish decisions. Now, I check less and try to do other things. Sometimes, the best strategy is simply... to do nothing for a while.
* Learning to wait for confirmations: Instead of jumping in as soon as I see a rise, I'm learning to be more observant. Is it really a good time to enter? Or is it just a small bounce? It's like waiting for the light to turn green before crossing the street.
* Taking deep breaths: It seems silly, but when I feel panic or euphoria taking over, I try to breathe. I ask myself: "Am I deciding with a cool head or with a racing heart?" Almost always, the answer helps me to slow down.
The magic of "inaction"
The craziest thing I've learned is that sometimes, the best "move" is to do absolutely nothing. It's about sitting back, observing, learning, and protecting my money. I don't have to be buying and selling all the time. The market always offers new opportunities; there's no need to force things.
So, if you're like me, a newbie in this crypto world, and you feel like patience isn't your strong suit, don't worry! We're in the same boat.
