Elon Musk unveiled new ambitious plans for his AI project Grok from xAI. An updated version of the model — Grok 3.5, and possibly Grok 4 — is expected to be released soon. Musk stated that the new version will focus on a global 'rewrite' of human knowledge, aiming to eliminate the errors and gaps present in current AI models trained on imperfect data.
Musk's idea quickly attracted attention from both the technology and cryptocurrency communities. One of the first to react to the news was Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ), who expressed interest in how Grok plans to determine which knowledge is reliable and which is not. CZ emphasized that many historical facts and opinions remain subjects of debate, making such a task particularly challenging for any AI model.
Musk stated that Grok 3.5 (or possibly Grok 4) will have improved reasoning capabilities. According to him, this will allow for a 'reconstruction' of the body of human knowledge, correcting inaccuracies and adding missing pieces. He also noted that existing training datasets are often cluttered with outdated or distorted information, and the new model will aim to eliminate these shortcomings.
The initiative has sparked a wave of internet memes. Users on X (formerly Twitter) began suggesting humorous names for the new version, such as 'Grok 4.20' — a nod to the number 420, which is often associated with memes, Dogecoin, and Musk himself. He also published a meme featuring Pepe shortly after the unsuccessful SpaceX rocket test, which only fueled interest in the topic.
Additionally, Musk continues to actively develop the X platform, aiming to turn it into a 'financial super app.' More than 40 licenses for money transfers in the U.S. have already been obtained, partnerships with Visa have been established, and the X Money wallet has been launched. In the future, the platform may integrate investments, payments, and cryptocurrency trading.
Meanwhile, CZ also remains an active participant in discussions. Recently, he spoke out about the public behavior of traders who flaunt their trades and use of leverage. According to him, such actions are part of marketing and psychological strategy, while truly experienced traders prefer to keep their methods secret. CZ also clarified that he trades rarely, viewing cryptocurrency primarily as a means of saving and using funds. He stated that his investment portfolio consists entirely of digital assets.
