Iran and Israel continued to fire missiles at each other, despite a ceasefire agreement that President Trump wishes to maintain.
The official memecoin of U.S. President Donald Trump rose 9%, reaching a market capitalization of $1.8 billion on Tuesday (24), while he announced a ceasefire between Iran and Israel in the early hours of Tuesday morning. But this did not happen without complications.
The chief of the Israeli Army Staff, Eyal Zamir, stated that Iran immediately broke the ceasefire, according to The New York Times. Israel insisted that it would respond with force, which it did — all while Trump was asking the nation not to break the ceasefire.
Earlier, Trump had reposted an article from the conservative publication Newsmax, which claimed that his official memecoin was an indicator of the president's performance and an alternative to polls.
In this context, this would suggest that the public reacted positively to both the supposed ceasefire that Trump helped organize and to the way he handled the breaches of the agreement by both parties.
'ISRAEL. DON'T DROP THOSE BOMBS,' Trump wrote on Truth Social in capital letters, five hours after his ceasefire announcement. 'IF YOU DO, IT'S A BIGGER VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!'
But it seems that Israel was not checking Truth Social before launching 'those bombs'.
Trump spoke to the press, stating that Israel 'dropped a number of bombs like we've never seen' within hours after the agreement was made.
'Basically, we have two countries that have been fighting for so long and so intensely that they don't know what they're doing, do you understand that?' Trump said in an explosive outburst to the media. Some political commentators believe this demonstrated strength, while others said it shows how upset he is with the situation.
Trump continued posting on social media. The president stated that 'Israel will not attack Iran', that its aircraft will return and wave amicably to Iran. He added that 'Iran will never rebuild its nuclear facilities'.
The proposed ceasefire follows the conflict between Israel and Iran that escalated when Israel launched a large-scale airstrike against Iran on June 13. Iran responded by firing its own missiles at Israel. Then, on Sunday morning, the U.S. got involved by bombing an Iranian nuclear facility.
It seems that Trump believed this would be the end of the conflict, but both Iran and Israel continue to fire missiles at each other.
