This major acquisition comes on the heels of ProCap’s announcement of a $1 billion merger with Columbus Circle Capital Corp. I, which will take the company public as ProCap Financial, Inc.
This purchase is part of ProCap’s broader strategy to build a significant bitcoin treasury, giving equity investors direct exposure to bitcoin holdings. ProCap has stated its intention to continue acquiring bitcoin and expects to hold up to $1 billion in BTC on its balance sheet once the merger is finalized.
