⏺U.S. TREASURY YIELDS CLIMB AFTER TRUMP ANNOUNCES ISRAEL-IRAN CEASEFIRE
U.S. Treasury yields increased on Tuesday following President Donald Trump’s statement that a ceasefire had taken effect, shortly after Iranian state media reported Tehran had launched its “final round” of missiles toward Israel.
“THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” Trump posted on Truth Social around 1 a.m. ET.
🟢As of 5:55 a.m. ET, the 10-year Treasury yield had risen by 2 basis points to 4.344%.
🟢The 2-year yield edged up by 1 basis point to 3.84%, while the 30-year yield was up more than 3 basis points at 4.894%.
A basis point equals 0.01%. Remember, bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
