On June 23, 2025, the hardware cryptocurrency wallet manufacturer Trezor warned about a new phishing attack targeting users. Malefactors exploited a vulnerability in the contact form of the official website, sending emails on behalf of the support service. In these messages, the scammers requested wallet backups, posing as official company representatives. Trezor emphasized that it never asks for seed phrases or other confidential information and urged users to keep them offline.
According to the company, there was no data breach, and the support form remained secure. Hackers used automated responses from the form to create an illusion of legitimacy. Trezor promptly localized the issue and is working on enhancing security. Users are advised to verify all transactions exclusively on the Trezor device and to ignore suspicious emails or links.
This is not the first case of attacks on Trezor. In 2022, due to a Mailchimp breach, scammers sent fake emails, and in 2024, there was unauthorized access to a third-party support portal. Users are advised to be vigilant and not share seed phrases. The security of crypto assets depends on the caution of the owners.
