The #سولانا Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Kazakhstan, the first of its kind in Central Asia.
Solana collaborates with Kazakhstan to build the first economic zone for blockchain technology in Central Asia.
This collaboration aims to create the "Solana Economic Zone" in the country. This new initiative aims to make Kazakhstan a regional hub for blockchain technology, promote Web3 technologies, and attract global talent.
In the announcement published on Solana's official account on X, it was confirmed that this collaboration is Solana's first partnership with a country in Central Asia.
The project includes a special economic zone aimed at playing an accelerating role focused on technology, similar to the cryptocurrency center model within the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (D, MCC).
The Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, Zhasarlan Madiyev, stated that this initiative represents an important step for both the country's economy and the global cryptocurrency ecosystem.
We are committed to building resilient and competitive digital infrastructure. Thanks to projects like the Solana Economic Zone, we will be able to test and implement next-generation solutions, from asset tokenization to training Web3 talent.
The economic zone will focus on three main objectives
The Solana Economic Zone, which will be supported by Solana technology, aims to develop the infrastructure for Web3 in the country in three main areas:
Development of tokenized capital markets: A pilot project will be launched to integrate tokenized products into traditional financial markets in Kazakhstan, in partnership with the Astana International Exchange (AIX), the Solana Foundation, Jupiter, and Intiplex.
Creating a Web3 developer community: In collaboration with local universities, training programs focused on the Rust programming language will be launched to train expert developers in the Web3 field.
Infrastructure and incentives for blockchain companies: The economic zone will provide regulatory support, access to infrastructure, and business incentives to encourage blockchain companies to operate in Kazakhstan.
This collaboration is seen as part of the Solana Foundation's vision to enhance strategic relationships with countries globally. It is also considered an important step for Kazakhstan to enhance its role in the digital economy.
