What drives the price above the market are the people buying, but the more sellers there are, the harder it will be for the market to rise. Liquidity means nothing; this is called desperation. Then the person sees that the market will not provide a buyer for them at 10, so they lower it to 9. But in that moment, the number of orders is much higher than the new investors.
So others end up selling, filling the buy orders.
