PnL stands for Profit and Loss — a key term in trading, investing, and finance.

---

🔹 What is PnL?

PnL = Profit and Loss

It shows how much money you have gained or lost from a trade or over a period.

---

🔹 Two types:

1. Realized PnL

Profit/loss from closed trades.

Example: If you bought $BTC at $30,000 and sold it at $35,000, your realized PnL is +$5,000.

2. Unrealized PnL (Floating PnL)

Profit/loss from open trades.

It changes with market price.

Example: You bought $BTC at $30,000, it’s now $33,000, but you haven’t sold yet — your unrealized PnL is +$3,000.

---

🔹 PnL Formula:

For crypto:

PnL = (Selling Price - Buying Price) × Quantity

For futures/trading with leverage, it includes fees and leverage effects.
