Malicious mining is a type of cybercrime that involves unauthorized cybercriminals using individuals' devices (whether computers, smartphones, tablets, or even servers) to mine digital currencies; it resembles many other cybercrimes in that the motivation behind it is profit, but it differs from other threats in that it is designed to remain completely hidden and not show up to the victim at all.
What is Malicious Mining?
Malicious mining is a threat that hides itself within a computer or mobile device and then uses its resources to mine a digital currency. Digital currencies are digital or virtual money that takes the form of tokens or "coins," with the most well-known being Bitcoin, but there are almost 3000 other forms of digital currencies, most of which are still only virtual, although some have started to enter the real world through credit cards or other projects.
Digital currencies use a distributed database known as a "blockchain" to function, and the blockchain is regularly updated with information about all transactions that have occurred since the last update, and each group of recent transactions is entered in the form of a "block" using a complex mathematical process
