WalletConnect Token (WCT) is the native token of the WalletConnect protocol, launched in April 2025 as part of its strategy to decentralize and enhance its Web3 infrastructure.
It emerged as a solution to securely and cross-platform connect digital wallets with decentralized applications (dApps). Its launch included an initial sale on platforms like CoinList, with a starting price of approximately $0.20, and quickly garnered attention due to its utility in an expanding blockchain ecosystem.
The project was developed by the WalletConnect Foundation, which sought to integrate governance and staking features to incentivize community participation.
