Coinbase received a MiCA license in the EU
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has obtained a MiCA license from the Luxembourg Financial Sector Supervisory Commission, allowing it to legally offer services in 27 EU countries. The company has joined other exchanges like OKX and Crypto.com, which have already received accreditation in Europe. Luxembourg was chosen due to the clarity of its regulation in the crypto industry. Previously, Coinbase had already obtained licenses in several European countries, and can now combine these efforts under a single framework. Since April 2021, Coinbase shares have been listed on Nasdaq, and in May 2025, they were included in the S&P 500 index.
Comment:
Obtaining the MiCA license for Coinbase is a strategically important step that strengthens its position in the European market. It also opens up new opportunities to expand its customer base and increase trading volume. European regulatory frameworks provide stability that can attract more investors to the cryptocurrency sector.
