#CryptoStocks Elon Musk's platform X will incorporate investment and stock trading features. It also plans to launch its own debit cards, possibly this year.
The CEO, Linda Yaccarino, stated that the new features will encompass investments and operations, and could include a personalized debit or credit card, according to The Financial Times. The integrated services in the app will be launched first in the United States under the brand X Money, a wallet that the company announced in January by partnering with Visa to allow real-time transfers between bank accounts and digital wallets integrated into the app.
While Yaccarino did not specify the types of assets or mention cryptocurrencies, the platform already allows tips with the Bitcoin Lightning network and displays cryptocurrency prices in real-time through $Cashtags. Visa has also partnered with several cryptocurrency service providers to boost payments, suggesting that X's latest launch could include blockchain-based currencies.
