The countdown for the $USDC altcoins has already begun

Once the beautiful country's stock market is fully tokenized, compliant stocks will be able to circulate and trade on the blockchain, and those altcoins that rely on promises and storytelling will basically be packed up and sent off.

COIN is doing this, turning on-chain securities into the mainstream. Many stocks that have just gone public have a market value of only tens of millions or a couple of hundred million, which is not much different from small-cap coins for retail investors — but at least they are regulated and compliant, with real businesses.
