$BTC Details of the extradition of the hacker from Kyiv to the USA have become known.

⚡️ It is claimed that one of the old members of the Ryuk group, who specialized in finding entry points into US infrastructure, is to be extradited. The arrest was made in April 2025 at the request of the FBI.

🎯 The search for hackers began in 2023 with an investigation into the activities of a group whose members carried out attacks on companies in France, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, and the USA.

As a result of this operation, devices were identified and seized, and several cybercriminals living in Ukraine were arrested for their involvement in the activities of the LockerGoga, MegaCortex, Hive, and Dharma groups, which were engaged in distributing ransomware.

⚡️ Ukraine claims that the suspect had previously been placed on the FBI's international wanted list and was charged with committing numerous crimes in the USA.

The Ryuk ransomware group operated from 2018 to 2020.

🎯 In 2020, the gang renamed itself to Conti ransomware operation, which became one of the most active gangs of that time and was associated with Russian special services.

⚡️ In 2022, the Conti ransomware gang ceased its activities, splitting into numerous groups, some of which are still active today.

🔤 Researchers previously tracked ransom payments to cybercriminals and calculated that Ryuk earned 150 million dollars during its operations.

⚡️ It should be noted that the fact that the US and Ukrainians are concealing the identity of the detained individual is likely part of some intricate scheme, the resolution of which we will soon see.
