The conflict between Israel and Iran has escalated significantly, now entering its seventh day since erupting on June 13th, 2025. Israel has conducted airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military sites, including Natanz and Isfahan, aiming to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Tragically, these strikes have resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian military commanders and scientists.

In response, Iran has launched hundreds of drones and missiles towards Israel. Some of these projectiles have managed to bypass Israeli air defenses, causing casualties within Israel. Reports indicate over 200 fatalities and more than 1200 injuries in Iran, predominantly civilians, while Israel has reported 24 deaths and over 500 injuries.

This ongoing conflict is exacerbating the already tense situation in the Middle East, particularly with the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. The international community is deeply concerned, and the UN Security Council has held emergency meetings. While the US has refrained from direct military intervention, it is providing support to Israel and urging Iran to de-escalate.

Pakistan is closely monitoring the situation, condemning Israel's actions as a violation of Iranian sovereignty, given the significant implications for regional security and Pakistan itself.
