Bitcoin

This powerful currency not only opened doors for other currencies but proudly leads the cryptocurrency world. It was certainly agreed that no additional Bitcoin would be produced, with a maximum supply set at 21 million Bitcoin units. When Bitcoin was launched, the price was $1 for 1,309 Bitcoin. Since then, the currency has undergone significant development, reaching an all-time high of $19,783.21 in 2017, which was a significant event for Satoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) was created from a hard fork of Bitcoin on August 1, 2017, where a new version of the blockchain system was born with different rules by transitioning from the main Bitcoin blockchain to a new version, which now has the ability to accommodate a larger number of transactions.

Bitcoin Gold (BTG) is the second fork of Bitcoin (the second version that branches from Bitcoin's source code). This currency retains a record of Bitcoin transactions, meaning if you owned a certain amount of Bitcoin before the split, you currently own an equal amount of Bitcoin Gold. This digital currency aims to provide an alternative mining algorithm less susceptible to ASIC optimization, thus allowing users to increase their profits through their personal computers.

Ethereum

Ethereum (ETH) is more than just a currency — it is a giant computer hosting many other computers worldwide, capable of responding to advanced requests. It has the ability to store revolutionary computer programs, which distinguishes it from Bitcoin and attracts the attention of banks around the world. This is one of many factors that led this currency to achieve a leap of nearly 10,000% in 2017!

Litecoin

Litecoin (LTC) is similar to Bitcoin in many properties and is one of the more established currencies. However, there are two main differences between Litecoin and Bitcoin: speed and value. While it takes about 10 minutes to create a Bitcoin block, a Litecoin block takes about 2.5 minutes to create, making it four times faster. Furthermore, Litecoin attracts many users because it can produce four times the amount of Bitcoin! However, using Litecoin's encryption is quite complex, and mining this currency is often more complicated than other cryptocurrencies.

Ripple

Ripple (XRP) can be described as the next generation of payment networks. Originally created for participation with financial industry leaders, it is a leading currency in the tech world to date. This digital currency exploded in 2017, rising from $0.0063 to over $1.

EOS

It is considered the most competitive currency against Ethereum. The EOS blockchain gained its fame due to the efficient and secure way it records transactions. EOS is a currency similar to the Ethereum platform but faster and more scalable, allowing users to create decentralized applications more efficiently. Market analysts promote this currency as 'the strongest foundational structure for decentralized applications' and expect the currency's data to be stored and pumped, which presents an interesting opportunity in the short term.
