Veteran expert at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) breaks his silence on the Ripple case amid new developments
In a new development in the Ripple and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit, both parties have requested the Second Circuit Court to temporarily stay the appeals until a ruling is sought. The SEC is now expected to provide a status update by August 15, 2025.
Last week, Ripple and the SEC renewed their request for a ruling after Judge Torres denied the request in May.
As the mid-August deadline for the next update request from the SEC approaches, the XRP community is filled with anticipation. Speculation is growing about whether Judge Torres will amend any part of her ruling and what the outcome of the request for a ruling will be. Card
One XRP supporter on X said: "I would be puzzled if she denied the re-submission of the request. Do you think we should tell people that if things go south and one or both continue their appeals, the case will be returned to Torres?"
I don't think there's any way to predict whether she will amend her order. I expect it could go either way.
