A seasoned expert at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) breaks his silence on the Ripple case amid new developments.

In a new development in the Ripple vs. U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit, both parties have requested the Second Circuit Court to temporarily stay the appeals while a guidance ruling is sought. The SEC is now expected to provide a status update by August 15, 2025.

Last week, Ripple and the SEC renewed their request for a guidance ruling after Judge Torres denied the request in May.

As the mid-August deadline for the next update request to the SEC approaches, the XRP community is filled with anticipation. Speculation is growing about whether Judge Torres will modify any part of her ruling and what the outcome of the guidance ruling request will be. Card

One XRP supporter on X said: "I would be puzzled if they refused to refile the request. Do you think we should tell people that if things go south and one or both continue their appeals, the case will go back to Torres?"

I don't think there's any way to predict whether she will modify her order. I expect it to go in any direction.

Mark Fagel, the former regional director of the SEC joined the conversation.
