A seasoned expert at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) breaks his silence on the Ripple case amid new developments. In a new development in the Ripple lawsuit against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), both parties have requested the Second Circuit Court to temporarily suspend the appeals while a guidance ruling is sought. The SEC is now expected to provide a case update by August 15, 2025.
Last week, Ripple and the SEC renewed their request for a guidance ruling after Judge Torres denied the request in May.
As we approach mid-August, the deadline for the next update request to the SEC, the XRP community is filled with anticipation. Speculation is increasing about whether Judge Torres will amend any part of her ruling and what the outcome of the guidance ruling request will be. Card
One XRP supporter said on X: "I would be puzzled if they refused to refile the request. Do you think we should tell people that if things go bad and one or both continue their appeals, the case will go back to Torres?"
I don’t think there’s any way to predict whether she will amend her order. I expect it to go in either direction.
Mark Fagel, the former regional director of the SEC, has joined.
