#FOMCMeeting The Federal Open Market Committee (in English: Federal Open Market Committee; acronym: FOMC) is a component of the Federal Reserve System that has the legal obligation to oversee open market operations in the United States and is also the primary tool for implementing U.S. monetary policy. The committee sets monetary policy by specifying the short-term target for these operations, which is currently a target level for the federal funds rate (the rate that commercial banks charge each other for overnight loans). The FOMC also directs operations of the Federal Reserve System in foreign exchange markets, although any intervention in them is coordinated with the U.S. Treasury, which is responsible for formulating U.S. policies related to the value of the dollar's exchange rate.

Next meeting #FOMCMeeting is on December 10, 2925
