🇻🇳 Vietnam's Crypto Policy: A New Era Begins
Vietnam is stepping into a new phase of crypto regulation with a cautious but clear vision. While the use of cryptocurrencies as a payment method remains banned, the government is actively developing a legal framework to manage digital assets, exchanges, and blockchain innovation.
In 2024, Vietnam launched its National Blockchain Strategy (2024–2030), promoting blockchain across finance, logistics, and governance. By early 2025, authorities began preparing a crypto sandbox, allowing licensed exchanges to operate in cities like Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang.
The government aims to strike a balance—supporting innovation while enforcing anti-money laundering (AML) rules and investor protections. Full regulations are expected by 2026, marking a major shift from Vietnam’s previous grey-zone approach.
As one of the world’s top crypto-adopting countries, Vietnam is poised to become a regional leader—if it successfully implements its sandbox vision.
