Vietnam is working on developing a legal framework for cryptocurrencies, which is expected to be published by mid-2025. Trading and storage are allowed, but payments in cryptocurrencies remain prohibited, with fines reaching up to 8200 US dollars. An experimental environment for financial technology and testing platforms could be launched by 2026 and 2027.
