#VietnamCryptoPolicy Vietnam has made a significant turn in its crypto policy, moving from a restrictive stance to one of regulation and recognition. Recently, the National Assembly approved the "Digital Technology Industry Law," which legalizes crypto assets and establishes a regulatory framework. Although the use of cryptocurrencies as a payment method remains illegal, the law, which comes into effect on January 1, 2026, will allow possession and trading on exchanges. This change aims to promote technological innovation, attract foreign investment, and address concerns about money laundering, in line with international standards. Vietnam, with a high rate of cryptocurrency adoption, thus seeks to capitalize on the potential of the sector.
