Japanese listed company Metaplanet recently announced the addition of 42.3 Bitcoins, bringing its total holdings to 203 coins, valued at approximately 15 million USD. This increase is a continuation of the company's 'Bitcoin First' strategy, aimed at hedging against the depreciation of the yen and the uncertainty of the Japanese economy. Following the announcement, Metaplanet's stock price rose 12% in a single day, marking the largest increase in three months. The company stated that it will continue to regularly increase its Bitcoin holdings every month, with a goal of raising its total to 500 coins by the end of 2024.
