#VietnamCryptoPolicy Vietnam has adopted the Digital Technology Law, officially recognizing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as digital assets.

This law, approved by the National Assembly, will come into effect on January 1, 2026.

The legislation distinguishes between virtual and crypto assets but does not classify them as securities, digital currencies, or traditional financial assets. This development demonstrates a step towards regulating the growing crypto sector in the country.
