Vietnam is working on a legal framework for cryptocurrencies, expected to be issued by mid-2025. Trading and storage are allowed, but payments in cryptocurrencies remain prohibited, with fines up to 8,200 USD. A trial environment for fintech and experimental platforms may be launched by 2026 and 2027.
