#tradingwar Trade tensions are escalating: The USA has failed to reach agreements on tariffs with most countries
Despite the approaching end of the 90-day pause on July 9, agreements have only been reached with the United Kingdom out of 86 countries with which the USA planned to review trade conditions. The rest of the negotiations are either at an impasse or progressing very slowly:
🔻 China — renewed escalation: despite a temporary reduction in tariffs in May, the dispute over rare earth metals and Huawei's AI chips risks derailing everything. The high level has not yet been connected.
🔻 EU — offers to eliminate tariffs on cars, but the USA demands more. Europe is in no hurry to concede.
🔻 Japan — insists on protecting its interests. A breakthrough is possible at the meeting between Ishiba and Trump on June 15, but for now — stagnation.
🔻 India — there is progress, but tariffs on American goods and Indian steel remain a sticking point.
🇺🇸 USA — represented by Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick acknowledges: the process is difficult. They plan to intensify negotiations in the next two weeks, but deadlines are tightening.
