🚨 DeFi, Code & Accountability — The Future of Finance Is on Trial

#CryptoRoundTableRemarks $ETH

At the latest SEC crypto roundtable, some powerful statements were made:

🔹 Chair Atkins: "Engineers shouldn’t be held liable for how others use their code."

🔹 Hester Peirce: "Code is protected speech under the First Amendment."

🔹 Erik Voorhees: "Smart contracts are a step-function improvement over human regulators."

🔹 Others added: Decentralization isn't lawless — it’s transparent, automated, and user-driven.

💡 My Take:

DeFi devs are builders — not bankers. Just like open-source creators, they should be protected, not punished — unless they're knowingly enabling fraud.

We’re entering a new era where financial rules must evolve into code. That means less paperwork, more on-chain transparency, and compliance that’s verifiable in real time — not after the damage is done.

DeFi isn’t a loophole. It’s the foundation for programmable trust.

📌 Let’s regulate smartly, not blindly. Let’s build a future where freedom and responsibility coexist — in code, not courtrooms.
