Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, "Negotiations with the United States are unjustified amid Israeli strikes on Iranian cities," but he did not confirm that Iranian officials would not attend the planned nuclear talks this week between the United States and Iran in Oman.
An Iranian Foreign Ministry statement, referring to a phone call between Araghchi and European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, stated, "Araghchi considered, citing messages and statements from the American president, that the hostilities of the Zionist regime are a direct result of support from Washington, and emphasized that the continuation of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States amid the ongoing brutality of the Zionist regime is unjustified."
