The problem is that such data cannot be removed from the blockchain, thus: a GDPR violation automatically arises.

What's more, the guys from the EU propose as a solution

anonymization of data before recording in the chain,

which is clearly prohibited or criminalized by the parallel EU package concerning anti-money laundering, AML.
