Dark Crypto Mining Inside a Truck
Behind the coldness of the Baikal Lake region in Russia, electricity officers found more than just leaking cables. They uncovered an illegal crypto mining operation hidden inside a Kamaz truck. Yes, not a warehouse, not a bunker — but a truck.
The truck was quietly stealing power from a 10-kilovolt line, carrying 95 mining rigs and a portable substation, creating a criminal version of a "mobile PLN".
Before the police arrived, two people at the site fled in a black SUV, leaving the machine running and the cables still hot. As if everything was designed to “run away.”
Since the beginning of the year, Buryat Energy Company has recorded six cases of electricity theft related to crypto. This case is just one piece of a large dark network operating quietly, draining power for digital profits.
Is this the work of two people? Or part of a larger syndicate?
