#IsraelIranConflict The air raid sirens sounded across Israel as Iranian missiles struck the country in retaliation for the lethal attacks launched by Tel Aviv against nuclear facilities and military leaders. Iran's Revolutionary Guard confirmed that the attacks hit dozens of targets in Israel.

At least 7 injured in central Israel from Iranian missile attack, according to rescuers.

The sound of explosions was heard throughout Jerusalem this Friday, and Israeli television networks showed columns of smoke rising in Tel Aviv following an apparent missile attack. The military stated that dozens of missiles were launched and ordered residents across the country to seek shelter in air raid shelters.

The attacks occurred amid latent tensions over the advancement of Iran's nuclear program. For years, Israel had threatened a similar attack, and successive U.S. governments had attempted to prevent it, fearing it could trigger a broader conflict in the Middle East and that it might prove ineffective in destroying Iran's dispersed and consolidated nuclear program.

Before the missiles struck Israel, Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated during a broadcast speech that Israel started a war and asserted that it would not be allowed to carry out lightning attacks without serious consequences; “The Armed Forces of Iran will use force, and Israel will not be able to evade responsibility for its crimes,” Khamenei declared.
