🇺🇸The SEC and Ripple have jointly filed a motion in Manhattan court seeking to dismiss the lawsuit and resolve the $125 million currently frozen.

The two parties propose a division: $50 million will be transferred to the SEC, and the remaining amount will be refunded to Ripple. This is the latest step aimed at concluding the lawsuit, dismissing pending appeals, and avoiding prolonged legal disputes.

The filing claims there are "special circumstances" such as: the two parties have reached an agreement, the SEC's policy towards crypto has changed, and both want to avoid further litigation.

This move comes after Judge Torres previously rejected a similar request in May because she wanted the SEC to explain the reasons for pursuing the lawsuit against Ripple for four years, wasting court resources, and then wanting to settle.
