1. Agreement with China in London

On June 10-11, 2025, after two days of talks in London, Trump announced a framework agreement with China:

The U.S. would maintain a total tariff of 55% on U.S.-Chinese imports, adding existing tariffs and new charges (10% reciprocal + 20% for fentanyl trafficking + 25% already in effect).

China would apply a 10% tariff on American products.

In return, China guarantees the supply of rare earths (vital for sectors like electric cars) and the U.S. will allow more scientific or student visas.

Still pending formal approval by Trump and Xi, and specific implementation details.

2. Extension of the suspension of new tariffs

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated that extensions of the suspension (90 days) could continue for partners showing “good faith” in negotiations, as part of parallel efforts with 18 countries before July 9.
