#TrumpTariffs This Is the US-China Tariff War Deal in Londonš„š„š„
š¢President of the United States (US) Donald Trump outlined the latest trade agreement between his side and China that was negotiated by both countries in London. This comes as trade tensions between the two countries escalate.
š"WE ARE GETTING A TOTAL TARIFF OF 55%, CHINA GETS 10%. THE RELATIONSHIP IS VERY GOOD!" wrote Trump on Truth Social without further elaboration.
š"FULL MAGNET AND ALL RARE EARTHS NEEDED WILL BE PROVIDED, UP FRONT, BY CHINA. THUS, WE WILL PROVIDE CHINA WITH WHAT HAS BEEN AGREED, INCLUDING CHINESE STUDENTS USING OUR COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES (WHICH IS ALWAYS GOOD FOR ME!)."
ā”ļøA White House official stated that the agreement allows the US to impose a tariff of 55% on Chinese imports. This tariff includes a basic "reciprocal" tariff of 10%, a tariff of 20% for fentanyl trade, and a tariff of 25% reflecting previously existing tariffs.
ā”ļøThen, according to the White House official, China will impose a tariff of 10% on US imports.
ā©On the other hand, the Chinese Government has not confirmed Trump's statement other than saying on Tuesday that they had agreed to the "Geneva consensus" trade terms agreed upon earlier this year with the US.
