How many millions would you have today if you had invested R$ 10,000 in Dogecoin 10 years ago?
The appreciation was 143,000% during the period, according to an expert
Dogecoin (DOGE) was born as a joke. Created in 2013 as the first memecoin in the market, it is still seen by many analysts as a second-tier asset. But those who believed in the project a decade ago and endured the intense market fluctuations would be millionaires today.
A simulation conducted by Danilo Matos, a market expert at NovaDAX, reveals that an investment of R$ 10,000 in Dogecoin ten years ago would have turned into up to R$ 12.2 million net, already accounting for Income Tax (IR). The cutoff date for the calculation is June 5, 2025.
The math of fortune
On June 5, 2015, Dogecoin was trading at just US$ 0.0002. On the same date, the dollar was quoted at R$ 3.13. With R$ 10,000, it was possible to acquire about 15.97 million DOGE – a time when there was still no direct purchase of cryptocurrencies in reais.

Ten years later, the scenario has completely changed. At the close of last week, the memecoin was trading at US$ 0.16098, and the dollar was worth R$ 5.59. This means that the same 15.97 million DOGE would be worth today about US$ 2.57 million, equivalent to approximately R$ 14.4 million.
"The gross gain from this investment would be R$ 14,368,892.04, representing an appreciation of over 143,000% during the period," said Matos.
