#TrumpTariffs The trade war between the United States and China escalated another notch this Tuesday.

The White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, confirmed that the United States will start charging tariffs of 104% on some Chinese products starting at midnight local time.

The announcement comes after the ultimatum set by President Donald Trump to Beijing expired.

Trump imposed tariffs of 34% on Chinese imports that were set to take effect this Tuesday, to which Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao responded that China "will fight to the end" and would impose its own tariffs in response to Trump's.
