#TrumpTariffs Trump's tariffs may remain in effect for now, but the appeals court speeds up a resolution this summer.
President Donald Trump's higher tariffs have so far overcome a judicial hurdle, after a federal appeals court ruled on Tuesday that they could take effect while legal challenges are resolved. However, the appeals court accelerated the processing of the tariff cases for resolution this summer.
The decision came after the Trump administration appealed the ruling of the International Trade Court that determined the president exceeded his authority to impose nationwide tariffs citing a national emergency.
