The first time in my life! I couldn't sleep last Wednesday night and was scrolling through Twitter, and I saw@Solayer They organized an event, saying that Emerald Card users who retweet would have a chance to get an airdrop. I thought: retweeting doesn't cost anything, what if? So I casually clicked to retweet.
This Solayer community is for real!
I applied for the Emerald Card just for those two functions:
1. Store USDC and convert to sUSD, just lying there earning 4% interest (backed by US Treasury, much better than leaving it in Alipay!)
2. Can be used like a regular Visa card to buy iced Americanos or shop online without any pressure (I tested it, it's smooth!).
Technology isn't important, but we can't do without it! Honestly, I have no feeling for Solayer's exaggerated InfiniSVM claims of 'millions of TPS' and 'hardware acceleration', it sounds like gibberish to me. But this experience of receiving $100 instantly made me realize something:
I use the Emerald Card every day and have never encountered 'transaction failure' (unlike certain chains during peak times which can be maddening).
I've heard they set up a Mega Validator for SOL staking with an annualized return of 12%, so many people are rushing in, yet the system hasn't crashed.
Later, I flipped through the white paper and finally understood (though I struggled to read it): Oh! So 'unlimited hardware acceleration' is actually the engine that makes these massive operations (issuing airdrops, processing payments, settling staking rewards) fast and stable! The goal of millions of TPS isn't bragging; it's genuinely to support our experiences of 'shearing sheep' and 'instant payments'! The technology works quietly behind the scenes, while the benefits and experiences hit us squarely in the face—this feeling is exhilarating!
