#TrumpTariffs
Trump tariffs refer to a series of import taxes imposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, primarily during his administration from 2017 to 2021. Aimed at reducing trade deficits and protecting American industries, the tariffs targeted countries like China, Canada, and members of the European Union. The most notable were the tariffs on steel, aluminum, and hundreds of billions of dollars' worth of Chinese goods, sparking a trade war. While intended to boost U.S. manufacturing and pressure trading partners into fairer deals, the tariffs also led to retaliatory measures, increased costs for American businesses and consumers, and global economic uncertainty.
