$BTC Pump phase:
Coordinators or influencers hype up a stock/crypto (e.g., with fake news, coordinated buying, or influencer posts).
Retail traders rush in, driving up the price rapidly.
Dump phase:
The original promoters sell their positions at the inflated price.
The price crashes, and latecomers are left holding the bag
This is the reverse — a sharp sell-off ("dump") followed by a rebound ("pump"), sometimes triggered by:
Whales or institutions dumping to cause panic.
Retail traders panic sell.
Smart money or insiders then buy the dip at a discount.
Price "pumps" back up — sometimes to previous levels, sometimes beyond.
Seen in: Crypto markets (especially BTC/ETH), where manipulation is easier due to low regulation and high leverage
