If everyone woke up this morning and opened Twitter, they might find that many of the Chinese big accounts they follow have been suspended.

Specifically, there are familiar names like the killer @Wolfy_XBT and the wizard @0xCryptoWizard among others.

Observant netizens noticed that all the suspended big accounts had the GMGN badge on Twitter, so upon further investigation, it turned out that GMGN's official account, marked with a gold badge, @gmgnai, was also suspended, along with GMGN's founder, @haze0x.

Because GMGN pays relatively high fees to top KOLs for endorsements, the Chinese-speaking community has suffered significant losses.

However, the whole internet is curious about what exactly happened that led to such a large-scale account suspension.

Users on X are discussing this event, with some speculating that GMGN may have 'issues' or be 'manipulated by capital', and even rumors that the team has been arrested.

I contacted a friend working at GMGN, and they stated that everything is operating normally internally, and they are still communicating with the X team about the reasons for the suspensions, hoping everyone would refrain from spreading rumors.

Then, through friends close to the X team, it was learned that this arbitrary suspension may involve a meme $PPMT discovered on GMGN.

This meme is clearly from the Chinese community, as PPMT is just an abbreviation of pinyin.

Just as the P players were starting to create buzz on Twitter, it seems that GMGN's KOLs were particularly vocal, leading everyone to trade on GMGN, causing Musk to believe that GMGN is the driving force behind this meme.

X rules indicate that accounts may be temporarily or permanently suspended due to reports of abusive behavior (such as misleading content or security risks).

But in practice, it may still depend on Musk's personal will.

For example, in November 2022, Musk banned all the comedians who imitated and mocked him.

In 2024, several reporters were also banned for making critical remarks about Musk, with the reasons for the suspensions not clearly stated, only showing 'violations of X rules.'

So the internet is not a lawless place, and KOLs should be cautious.
