Ripple provides tremendous support for academic research in the Asia-Pacific region.
Ripple announced in a post published this Tuesday, June 10, 2025, a new funding of $5 million as part of the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), aimed at enhancing research and training capabilities in blockchain across several countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Ripple is also betting on Asia. Since Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, Ripple has refocused on the United States. Previously, the issuer of XRP avoided the U.S. during the war between Joe Biden and Gary Gensler (the former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission) against cryptocurrencies.
But this time, Ripple is looking to invest in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, focusing on education and academic research in blockchain technology.
